| Black Gold Legacy, LLC - Scheduled Appearances 2010 February 6, 2010 - (Saturday) Black Gold Stakes Race, Churchill Downs Fair Grounds Race Course, New Orleans, LA Family members, grand children, great-grand children and great-great grand children of Rosa Hoots will be present to attend the Black Gold Stakes Race and will be presenting the trophy to the winning jockey of the Stakes race and escorting the jockey to the grave site of Black Gold in the traditional "Laying of the Wreath" ceremony. Appearance at the track will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 2006 - Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby Previous Events 2005 March 12, 2005 - Louisiana Derby (Churchill Downs Fair Grounds Race Course, New Orleans, LA. where the inaugural launch of Black Gold Legacy, LLC occurred. Company officers introduced Official Black Gold merchandise through the Fair Grounds Race Course Gift shop. The merchandise was made available to long-time Black Gold fans throughout the day and was endorsed by CEO Emeritus, Richard W. Freeman (Grandson of Rosa Magnet Hoots). The Black Gold merchandise was made available for sale in the gift shop through the end of the meeting. Additionally, company officers announced the start of a book to tell the true story of the rich family history, dating back to the mid 1800's through the current day saga of the family remaking a replica trophy from the 1924 Kentucky Derby and their ongoing search for the stolen trophies: The Louisiana Derby, The (Original Kentucky Derby ), The Ohio Derby and The Chicago Derby. Previous Events 2004 November 13, 2004 - Richard W. Freeman and 19 members of his immediate family escort him to Louisville, Kentucky where he donated the 1924 Replica Kentucky Derby Trophy to the Kentucky Derby Museum. The trophy is now on display for public viewing and gives tribute to the Indian Horse, Black Gold and his owner, an Osage Indian woman, Rosa Magnet Hoots. |
